Resin Infusion Products
The technique of vacuum drawing resin into a dry fiber laminate in a one-sided mold is known as resin infusion. Over the top, a rigid or flexible film membrane is applied and sealed around the mold periphery. Resin infusion is categorized as a "Closed Mold Process."
The advantages of resin infusion over non-vacuum bag curing of composite laminates include:
- Better fiber to Resin ratio
- Stronger laminate
- Low void content
- Reduce operator exposure to harmful emissions
- Reduce resin usage due to pre-compacted fabric
- Faster Ply lay-up
Airtech range offers a one-stop shop for vacuum bagging materials needed for resin infusion of parts and tooling, including:
- Peel Plies
- Perforated Release Films
- Resin Distribution Mesh
- Vacuum Bagging Film
- Vacuum Sealant Tapes
- Vacuum Manifolds
- Resin Feeds
- Spray Adhesives
- Vacuum Reservoirs
- Through Bag Connectors
Resin Infusion is a process by which a vacuum draws resin into a dry fiber laminate in a one-sided mold. A rigid or flexible film membrane is placed over the top and sealed around the mold periphery. Resin infusion is considered a “Closed Mold Process”.
The benefits of resin infusion when compared to non-vacuum bag curing of composite laminates include: better fiber to resin ratio, stronger laminate, low void content, lower chance of operator being exposed to harmful emissions, reduced resin usage due to pre-compacted fabric, and faster ply lay-up.
Airtech offers a wide range of high-quality resin infusion products, including: tackifiers, flow media, flow lines, infusion connectors, semi-permeable membranes, infusion resins, and unique solutions to reduce waste and increase cycles times when infusing.
